Raised on a family farm in Missouri where she developed a strong work ethic, appreciation for nature, and creativity.

Graduated from Central Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
1976 - M.S. in Education
Graduated from Central Missouri State University with a Master of Science in Education.
1984 - Doctor of Philosophy
Earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Saint Louis University.
1989 - Licensed Counselor
Became a Licensed Professional Counselor, continuing her mission of helping children and families.
